school days, school days, dear old golden rule days...

mom hasn't had a job offer yet, but the interview went well. thanks for your prayers! hopefully she'll get a call by the end of this week.

tomorrow i'm scooting off with adrienne for a new hampshire adventure. the trip doesn't have much adventure planned, but it seems that we make adventures happen even on the smallest of outings :). nate and the boys will be hangin' out with mor mor and tante for the weekend. hopefully the rain will subside and they can do some beachin'.

ooo, ooo, funny nate story:
last friday nate and i went on a date to see the dark knight at the commadore theater in p-town. afterward we went to get a drink at one of fave spots, krush. when we got there, we found out that they were closing at 10!! can you believe that? friday night, closing at 10. anyway, we decided we didn't have to get home for anything, so we decided to drive over to ghent. now, i know we've been out of that scene for a while but... we went to 4 bars before we actually ordered a drink. then, we got the giggles because the solo stud next to me was so trashed and proceeded to get the hiccups - it was quite entertaining!! so we headed to the next place...i wish my words could adequately describe where we ended up. as we were heading back to our side of the water, i suggested that we head over to gators - a sports bar that we have gone to several times. nate said, and i quote, "i don't want to go there; it's too loud. let's go to the barrel." are you kidding me?? it's this total hick, hole in the wall bar, that i have zero interest in making my new fave spot. so we go back & forth on this for a few moments, begin heading to gator's but nate (remember he's 31 now) starts pouting, so we turn around and headed back to the barrel!! as we get out of the car, i say, "honey, it sounds like it's loud in there." "no, it's not." okay, you have to get this picture: the building is sandwiched between a gas station and a tire center, there are no windows, it's about the size of a glorified shed, and when you walk in the front door (even at night) the light comes pouring into the dark, smokey room allowing the new arrivals to make a grand entrance. well, on this particular evening, not only did that happen to us, but immediately to the right of the entrance is the band. you read me, the band!!! 4 white guys, including the lead singer who was wearing an old confederate-type hat - it is definitely not a culturally diverse joint. as i'm letting this all sink in, not moving yet, i start to get the giggles again - thinking to myself, "oh yeah, this is much better than gators" and just as that thought and my laughter is starting to overwhelm me, we hear, "NATE!!!!" no lie! we look up and it's nate's secretary. i am hear to tell you that we barely made it to a booth before the two of us erupted in laughter. i had to literally lean half way across the table to hear what nate was saying to me. and each time he would try to talk to me he would start laughing knowing full-well the irony of him assuring me that it wasn't going to be "loud like gators"!!! ooo, and the best part, one of the guys at the bar (who looked amazingly similar to Kip) was waaaaayyyy into the band and air guitared for an entire song which commenced with him removing his shirt to reveal...you guessed it...a "wife beater"!! seriously - it was an amazing evening. one that i won't soon let nate forget. gosh, i LOVE that man!!! it's a good thing he's so handsome! :)
