i don't consider myself very crafty, mainly because i don't have the time to be. i usually have a bunch of ideas going on in my head most of the time - paintings, drawings, etc. - and i just put them on a back burner that i may have time to actually turn on one day. well, i had a few moments of downtime yesterday and decided to give one of my projects a whirl. i've had this very large, multi-photo frame around the house for a while. i was going to take it to goodwill or something, but then came up with what i thought was a pretty great idea. it didn't end up the way i totally envisioned; my original plan was to have panes with cork board, others with sheet metal and then others with dry erase surfaces. i was under the impression that it had several panes of glass, only to find out there were 3 large pieces. so i improvised this time and just did the dry erase ones by getting a few sheets of scrapbook paper, cutting it to size, and putting it behind the glass. obviously, this isn't some masterpiece and i'm sure someone else has done this already; but, i had fun and now there's a little space for each family member's info & notes. here are some pics of the process:
