well, lots going on at the carls1 house. nate has been really busy and we are praising the lord for all the deals that have been coming together. he's had a couple of issues come up, but all in all each thing has been a great learning experience.
i'm sorry that some of you are going to hear this news via this blog, but it's a little difficult to make all the phone calls - those of you who know me well, know how much i love that! i've actually been debating whether or not to say anything, but i guess it's better to have people praying than to keep it to myself. i have been struggling with fatigue for quite some time. when i was in high school i was diagnosed with anemia and have randomly taken iron supplements. in recent months i have probably been the healthiest i've been in...well...a long time, so the fatigue was really puzzling me. i mentioned, in a previous entry, my foot problem (which ended up being a pulled muscle and is fine now) - it was really persistent so i finally went to the doc. since i was already there - and i HATE to be there - i decided i'd ask about the fatigue. let me wrap this up...i had a bunch of blood work done and the initial counts for the CBC came back very low. i started taking ferrous sulfate (iron), but yesterday morning received a call from my doctor with a referral to see a hematology oncologist. i'm scheduled to see her may 8th. i'm not freaking out about this; i'm pretty sure it's routine testing that needs to happen because of how low my counts are. that being said, i'm praying to that end. i have a real peace about things, but would like you to pray for me if/when you think about it.
now...on to lighter things...
last weekend we were able to make our first trip to the beach!!!! yay!! on our way down, spencer was telling me about his friend joseph who travels to myrtle beach, what seems to be, a couple times a month. i had asked spencer, a couple weeks back, why his family went down there so often - to which spence said, "i have no idea." well, he found out. so spence says, "mom, i know why joseph goes to MB all the time." "oh yeah? you found out? why?" "his step-mom's twin lives down there (pause) it's really complicated." sis and i looked at each other and just started l-a-u-g-h-i-n-g!! which prompted carissa to tell me a "funny trey story": spence and trey were playing hide-n-seek. trey comes downstairs and asks carissa if she'd seen spence. "no, but it's a tiny house, if he's not upstairs where do you think he could be?" so he bops (trey NEVER walks anywhere) into the kitchen. from the kitchen, he calls to carissa,"can you come here?" she joins him. "i can't find it." "can't find what?" "the tiny house that spencer is hiding in!"
well, there are more funny stories - especially the one about trey peeing at the beach - but i'll save that for another day...this is getting quite long and i don't want to bore anyone.
i am off to rockbridge, a young life camp in the mountains, for a women's retreat this weekend. my sis-in-law should be joining me, but she has more important events to attend! :) love ya K!! the boys will be having a boys weekend at our house - brother jon is coming down so there is sure to be pickleball and disc golf galore!
okay, so it went longer still...but i'm done now...really...good night...love to all...can't wait to hear from you!

Hey Girl,
I'm praying for you! I know how scary those things can be. I also hate the dr. and well, yeah. I'm also praying that you find something out on the 8th, not that they just run tests and you have to go back in. Keep us posted. Love ya!
yeah, I would have liked to be there. I've already put it on the calendar for next year! One of these years I'll go! But...my heart was with ya. Love,K
